Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class is set to welcome a standout talent in Chris Henry Jr., a highly regarded wide receiver from the Cincinnati area. Henry, who is the top wide receiver in the nation, is already a familiar name in Ohio, partly due to his connection to the late Chris Henry, a former Cincinnati Bengals player who passed away in 2009.
As the son of the late Chris Henry, Chris Jr. has big shoes to fill and a bright future ahead. Known for his exceptional skills on the field, Henry has expressed a clear desire to play alongside some of his football idols. Given his background and Cincinnati roots, it’s no surprise that he has his sights set on playing with Bengals stars like Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins.
“My dream teammate would probably be Joe Burrow or Tee Higgins,” Henry recently shared. “The Bengals are my favorite team and they are my favorite players.”

Committed to Ohio State since July 2023, Henry remains a key recruit for the Buckeyes, though he continues to explore his options. Despite ongoing visits, Ohio State remains confident in his commitment. His addition would be another major win for Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes’ recruiting efforts.
Looking ahead, there’s a possibility that Henry could find himself on the same field as Burrow and the Bengals someday. While Henry won’t be eligible for the NFL Draft until 2029, it’s not too far off to imagine a scenario where he could be playing alongside his football heroes. If Burrow is still with the Bengals in five years, and Higgins has moved on, Henry might just step into a role similar to Higgins’, thanks to his impressive size and skill set. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 205 pounds, Henry already makes a significant impact in high school and is expected to do the same at higher levels in the near future.
