With the conclusion of Week 1 in college football, the latest AP Poll rankings have been unveiled. Notably, Florida State is the only team in the top 10 that failed to secure a victory in the opening week, and they’ve now dropped their first two games of the season. The weekend also saw several ranked teams face off, leading to a reshuffling of the rankings.
The Tennessee Volunteers made a significant impact with a resounding 69-3 victory over Chattanooga. The standout performance by quarterback Nico Iamaleava left a strong impression, and if head coach Josh Heupel can maintain this offensive momentum, the Vols could very well be in contention for a playoff spot by season’s end.
In the updated AP Poll, the Volunteers have climbed to the No. 14 spot.
