The Tennessee Vols are emerging as one of the leading contenders for one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation.
According to Chad Simmons from On3, the Vols are among the top two schools in the running for Kendre Harrison, a five-star tight end from the class of 2026. The other top contender is the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 243 pounds, Harrison hails from Reidsville, NC, and is currently ranked as the No. 1 tight end in the nation and No. 2 player in North Carolina by 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is also listed as the No. 9 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Simmons revealed that Harrison is scheduled to visit Tennessee during the Alabama game in October.
Harrison recently transferred to Providence Day in Charlotte, where he now plays alongside 2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr., who has already committed to the Vols. Harrison’s recent attendance at Tennessee’s victory over NC State in Charlotte likely bolsters the Vols’ position in this competitive recruiting battle.
