The Tennessee Vols have named a pair of sophomore defenders as captains for their upcoming game against Kent State. Sophomore linebackers Arion Carter and Jeremiah Telander have been selected to lead the team on Saturday night.
In addition to Carter and Telander, redshirt senior offensive lineman Dayne Davis and redshirt senior long snapper Matthew Salansky will also serve as captains for the game.
Carter and Telander have become pivotal figures in Tennessee’s defense. Their performances this season have significantly contributed to a more dynamic and athletic linebacker corps, working alongside redshirt senior linebacker Keenan Pili. Their impact is a notable upgrade for the Vols’ defensive unit compared to previous years.
Davis and Salansky bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the team. Both Tennessee natives, Davis and Salansky have been with the program since 2019. Davis, known for his versatility, has been a key player on the offensive line, capable of performing across various positions. Salansky’s role as long snapper has also been integral to the team’s special teams unit.
As the Vols prepare for their matchup against Kent State, these captains will play crucial roles in guiding their team to success on the field.
