Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith continues to make headlines with his impressive performances, scoring yet another sensational touchdown against the Marshall Thundering Herd.
In the second half of Saturday’s game, Smith caught a pass from quarterback Will Howard over the middle and took it 53 yards to the end zone. While there was a clear coverage breakdown by Marshall, Smith’s ability to accelerate and find open space showcased his remarkable speed and skill.

Interestingly, Smith had a relatively quiet afternoon prior to this touchdown, having only logged two receptions before breaking loose. Entering Week 4, he had already made a significant impact with 11 catches for 211 yards and three touchdowns in his first two games, following a Week 3 bye.
Considered one of the most highly touted wide receiver prospects in Ohio State history, some experts have even called him the best receiver prospect in football history. There were questions about how he would fare in the demanding Big Ten, especially given that even standout players like Marvin Harrison Jr. struggled to make a major impact in their first years.
Clearly, Smith is not following that script. The electrifying freshman has become the centerpiece of the Buckeyes’ passing game, leaving opposing defenses scrambling to keep up. It’s becoming increasingly evident that Smith possesses a unique talent, and fans may very well be witnessing the emergence of a generational superstar in the making.
