West Virginia redshirt freshman linebacker Josiah Trotter made a highlight-reel play in the third quarter of the Mountaineers’ 38-14 win over Oklahoma State, securing his first career interception with a remarkable toe-tap grab along the sideline. The interception came on a fourth-down attempt by Cowboys quarterback Alan Bowman, marking Bowman’s second pick of the game.

Trotter’s perfectly timed interception was a momentum-shifting moment, and it turned out to be Bowman’s final throw of the game, as Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy replaced him with backup quarterback Garret Rangel.
Coming into the game, Trotter had already recorded 28 tackles on the season, trailing only safety Anthony Wilson for the team lead. Through three quarters of play, Trotter had racked up six tackles to go along with his interception, further solidifying his impact on West Virginia’s defense. His impressive performance helped the Mountaineers stifle the Cowboys and secure a key Big 12 victory.
