Star Ratings (Confidence level):
– 1 Star: Low confidence
– 2 Stars: Slightly confident
– 3 Stars: Fair confidence
– 4 Stars: Very confident
– 5 Stars: Strong belief it will happen
Spread: Arizona -3.5
2-Star prediction for West Virginia (+3.5): While it’s uncertain if West Virginia will win, they’re likely to keep it close. The outcome is difficult to predict early in the week due to uncertainty around the quarterback situation. If Garrett Greene is about 80% healthy and plays, WVU’s chances improve. Even with Nicco Marchiol at QB, Arizona’s struggles on both sides of the ball could allow WVU to stay competitive, potentially winning. Should Marchiol play, expect West Virginia to rely heavily on the run game with Jahiem White, CJ Donaldson, and possibly a third back, making the offense easier to manage for the young quarterback.
Over/Under: 54.5
2-Star prediction on the under: West Virginia’s pass defense has been poor all season, and they face Tetairoa McMillan, arguably the best wide receiver in college football. However, WVU’s offense has also struggled, especially with their passing game and inconsistent rushing performances from White and Donaldson. This prediction leans more on WVU’s offense continuing to struggle to score points. Arizona’s offense, despite its potential, has also had difficulty scoring in Big 12 games, with a high of just 23 points in conference play. Expect a low-scoring game, potentially in the 20s, but bet cautiously on the under.
