Tre Mann, a former Florida Gators point guard, played a crucial role in the Charlotte Hornets’ 110-105 opening night win over the Houston Rockets. Mann came off the bench and delivered an impressive performance, scoring 24 points, including four three-pointers. He also contributed six rebounds, one assist, and one block.
Mann’s scoring began to take off in the second quarter. After checking into the game with about six minutes left in the first quarter and scoring his first point shortly after, his production exploded around the 4:30 mark of the second quarter. During this stretch, Mann hit two three-pointers and a floater, bringing his total to 10 points by halftime.
In the second half, Mann continued his strong performance, adding five points in the third quarter and nine more in the fourth, finishing with 24 points. He also secured the win for the Hornets by hitting two clutch free throws late in the game, completing a comeback victory.
Mann’s performance earned praise from Hornets head coach Charles Lee, who commended him for stepping up in the second half and delivering both offensively and defensively.
Mann attributed his strong second-half showing to a shift in mindset, focusing on bringing energy to the game, especially on defense. “We were down and we needed somebody to bring that spark… I just wanted to win really bad,” Mann said.
