The Arizona Cardinals have taken the lead in the NFC West. They began the week tied for first place with a 4-4 record, sharing the top spot with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.
After Week 9, Arizona emerged as the sole division leader, positioning themselves in control of their playoff hopes.
In a strong home performance, the Cardinals defeated the Chicago Bears, marking their third straight win. While the 49ers were on a bye, the Seahawks lost in overtime to the Los Angeles Rams, leaving Arizona as the only team in the division with five wins.
Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon was asked about his team’s winning streak. “I wouldn’t call it a streak—this was round nine,” he said. “Round 10, which is tomorrow, is our most important day yet. We focus on one day at a time, make every second count, and stay focused.”
Gannon credited the team’s success to strong leadership in the locker room, particularly the captains, who keep everyone accountable. “They don’t tolerate any distractions and keep everyone aligned,” he added.
The Cardinals will face the New York Jets at home in Week 10 before their bye.
