The Alabama Crimson Tide celebrated a major victory on Tuesday night, but this one didn’t involve a single snap. Days after their dominant performance against LSU, Alabama climbed in the College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings from No. 11 to No. 10.

Alabama Moves Up in CFP Rankings
The Crimson Tide’s rise into the Top 10 was expected after a convincing win over LSU, especially with key losses from Georgia and Miami. Now, with only matchups against Mercer, Oklahoma, and Auburn left in the regular season, Alabama has positioned itself well for a postseason spot, barring any major upsets.
A month ago, the Tide’s postseason hopes were uncertain. After a tough loss to Vanderbilt, and then to Tennessee a few weeks later, Alabama found itself with two losses before October for the first time in over a decade. These stumbles had fans worried, but Alabama has since regrouped, focusing on each game to climb back into CFP contention.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer, however, is keeping his team focused. Known for his “one-game-at-a-time” mentality, DeBoer didn’t even check the rankings last week, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded. Ahead of their game against Mercer, he expressed a similar approach: “Right now, we just have to keep winning, and that’s what it’s about,” DeBoer said. “I didn’t realize even where we were ranked until just now, so I knew we’d probably be up there somewhere. But each week is what it’s about for us, and if we do what we need to do, then it will work itself out. Just focus on what we call next-play mindset, next-game mindset. That’s the only thing that matters.”
As Alabama prepares for its final three regular season games, the Crimson Tide and their fans are embracing this resurgence. If Alabama can maintain its momentum, the CFP might just be within reach.
