The Auburn Tigers’ aspirations for a bowl game this season were extinguished during their clash at Bryant-Denny Stadium this past Saturday. However, as the 2024 season ends, a new chapter begins with National Signing Day marking the official start of the 2025 campaign.
Auburn enters the day with 25 committed players in its 2025 recruiting class, expecting most of them to officially sign their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. Ranked as the fifth-best class in the nation by 247Sports, Auburn’s recruiting efforts are highlighted by five-star defensive linemen Jared Smith and Malik Autry.
The Tigers are also focusing on flipping key prospects before the signing period ends. Five-star defensive back Na’eem Offord (currently committed to Ohio State), defensive lineman Darrion Smith (Tennessee commit), and uncommitted defensive lineman Justus Terry are among Auburn’s late targets.
Head coach Hugh Freeze is scheduled to address the media at 3:00 p.m. to share his thoughts on this impressive recruiting class.
National Signing Day Updates:
- 7:14 a.m.: Auburn secured its first five-star recruit of the day, defensive lineman Jared Smith, who chose Auburn over Ole Miss and South Carolina. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound edge rusher is ranked No. 25 overall in the 2025 class and is the second-best at his position.
- 7:04 a.m.: Tight end Ryan Ghea from Milton, Georgia, became Auburn’s second tight end commitment, rated as a three-star prospect.
- 6:48 a.m.: Offensive lineman Jacobe Ward from Savannah, Georgia, signed with Auburn, becoming the third lineman to join the Tigers.
- 6:37 a.m.: Offensive lineman Kail Ellis from Canton, Georgia, also signed, making him the second lineman of the day after Tai Buster.
- 6:22 a.m.: Hollis Davidson III, a tight end from Peach City, Georgia, became Auburn’s third official signee.
- 6:12 a.m.: Auburn kicked off its signing day by adding offensive lineman Tai Buster from Kannapolis, North Carolina, as the first signee.
Auburn’s strong recruiting performance sets the stage for a promising 2025 season, as the program continues to build depth and talent across all position.
