Arkansas Razorbacks wide receiver Andrew Armstrong has officially announced his decision to forgo the team’s upcoming bowl game and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Armstrong, one of the Razorbacks’ top offensive contributors, leaves behind a stellar collegiate career as he sets his sights on the professional level.
Armstrong played a pivotal role in Arkansas’ offense this season, leading the team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. His athleticism, route-running ability, and knack for making big plays have made him a standout prospect for NFL scouts.
In a statement shared on social media, Armstrong expressed gratitude for his time at Arkansas. “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and Razorback Nation for believing in me and supporting me throughout this journey. While it’s bittersweet to not suit up one last time with my brothers, I’m excited to take the next step toward achieving my lifelong dream,” he wrote.
Head coach Sam Pittman praised Armstrong’s contributions to the program, calling him “an exceptional player and an even better teammate.” Pittman added, “We’re proud of everything Andrew has accomplished at Arkansas, and we can’t wait to see what he achieves at the next level.”
Armstrong’s departure leaves a significant gap in Arkansas’ receiving corps heading into the bowl game, but it also opens the door for younger players to step up. As for Armstrong, his impressive college resume positions him as a strong contender in the upcoming NFL Draft, where he’s expected to garner considerable interest.
