Auburn football had a strong showing on the first day of the early signing period, securing a top-10 recruiting class. Despite missing a few flip targets and losing some prospects before signing day, it marks a major achievement for head coach Hugh Freeze in his second year on the Plains.
Leading the class is 5-star quarterback Deuce Knight, who flipped from Notre Dame to Auburn in October. Knight, who resisted late interest from in-state Ole Miss, solidified his commitment by signing on Wednesday.
Many of Auburn’s signees are set to enroll early and arrive in January, including:
- 5-star QB Deuce Knight
- 5-star DL Malik Autry
- 5-star Edge Jared Smith
- 4-star S Anquon Fegans
- 4-star S Eric Winters
- 4-star LB Jakaleb Faulk
- 4-star DL Jourdin Crawford
- 4-star CB Donovan Starr (pending commitment confirmation)
- 4-star DL Antonio Coleman
- 4-star CB Blake Woodby
- 4-star RB Alvin Henderson
- 4-star TE Hollis Davidson
- 4-star LB Elijah Melendez
- 4-star OT Broderick Shull
- 4-star CB Devin Williams
- 3-star TE Ryan Ghea
- 3-star LB Bryce Deas
- 3-star WR Sam Turner
- 3-star OL Tai Buster
- P John Alan McGuire
The rest of the signees are expected to join the team over the summer. Among them, 4-star wide receiver Derick Smith and his brother, 3-star receiver Erick Smith, will arrive in May, along with 3-star offensive lineman Jacobe Ward. Meanwhile, 3-star interior offensive lineman Kail Ellis is scheduled to arrive in June.
The Tigers’ impressive recruiting class promises a bright future for the program as the next generation of talent prepares to hit the Plains.
