National Signing Day has generally been a struggle for the Florida State Seminoles under Mike Norvell, with the team often losing key recruits to other schools at the last minute. This year, after a 2-10 season and staff changes, it seemed like another disappointing signing day was ahead. However, the day turned out differently, as FSU managed to secure a strong finish, flipping several players and retaining important signees. While not flawless, it was a positive development that sparked hope for the future.
The Seminoles successfully flipped five recruits, including four blue-chip prospects. The most significant flip came from four-star running back Ousmane Kromah, who switched from the Georgia Bulldogs. Kromah was FSU’s top target at running back, and before his commitment, it seemed the team would miss out on a crucial position.
In addition to Kromah, FSU flipped four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux from Auburn, four-star wide receivers Jayvan Boggs from UCF and Tae’Shaun Gelsey from Florida, and three-star offensive lineman Sean Poret from USF. These signings, along with the retention of key players, earned FSU recognition as one of the winners of signing day from Andrew Ivins of 247Sports.
In November, FSU’s class was ranked in the mid-50s, but thanks to Norvell’s efforts, they moved up to No. 22 by Wednesday. With a few more recruits still in play, the Seminoles have a strong chance of finishing with a top 25 class, a notable achievement for a team that just finished a rough 2-10 season.
The early signing period runs through Friday, and FSU still has several targets, including four-star edge LaJesse Harrold and three-star wide receiver Teddy Hoffmann.
