The Alabama football program celebrated another successful season by recognizing standout players at their annual awards banquet, held this past weekend. Head coach Nick Saban and the coaching staff took time to honor the individuals who contributed to the team’s success during the 2024 season, highlighting both individual achievements and team accomplishments.
The evening’s most prestigious award, the Most Valuable Player (MVP), was given to quarterback Jalen Milroe, whose leadership and playmaking ability helped propel Alabama to a strong season. Milroe, who took over as the starting quarterback in a critical year, was praised for his poise in big moments, including key victories over SEC rivals. “Jalen’s growth this season has been incredible,” said Saban. “He’s not only the MVP of this team but also a testament to hard work and resilience.”
The Offensive Player of the Year went to running back Jase McClellan, who enjoyed a standout campaign, rushing for over 1,200 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns. McClellan was a consistent force for Alabama, often carrying the team during critical moments. “Jase’s ability to find the end zone and make explosive plays has been invaluable,” Saban noted.
On the defensive side, the Defensive Player of the Year award was given to linebacker Dallas Turner, who led the team with 10 sacks and played a key role in Alabama’s defensive success. Turner’s relentless pass-rushing and leadership in the linebacker corps were instrumental in shutting down opposing offenses throughout the year.
Additionally, Kool-Aid McKinstry earned the Special Teams Player of the Year for his standout performances in the return game and his lockdown coverage in the secondary.
The banquet also featured several other team awards, including the Iron Man Award and the Leadership Award, further recognizing the contributions of various players throughout the season.
