Alabama football is addressing its need at wide receiver after losing several players to the Transfer Portal, and they have set their sights on a standout ACC wide receiver.
Three Alabama wide receivers have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, and with the 20-day portal window opening on Monday, new head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff are moving quickly to strengthen the roster for a shot at the College Football Playoff following a disappointing 9-3 season in 2024.
One of their primary targets is KC Concepcion, a former ACC Freshman of the Year from NC State, who is among the top wide receivers available in the portal. In his freshman year at NC State, Concepcion racked up 839 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, along with 320 rushing yards. However, his sophomore year saw a dip in production due to NC State’s struggles at quarterback following an injury to Grayson McCall, finishing with 460 receiving yards, six touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns.
Concepcion, known for his speed, would provide a dynamic complement to Alabama’s existing wide receivers, Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, and could fill the void of a reliable No. 3 option that the Tide lacked in 2024.
Reports indicate that Concepcion will visit Texas A&M on Tuesday and Wednesday before heading to Tuscaloosa for an Alabama visit from Thursday to Saturday.
As the Transfer Portal heats up, Alabama is expected to see more departures, but DeBoer and his staff are eager to make the most of their first real chance to reshape the roster since taking over.
