Looking at Georgia vs. Indiana, the spread of just 6.5 points seems questionable. Indiana has only faced one strong team this season, losing to Ohio State 38-15, and their high-powered offense struggled against the Buckeyes. Given Georgia’s superior defense, the Bulldogs should have a significant advantage over Indiana, making the spread seem too close.
The more surprising line is Georgia being underdogs to Notre Dame. The Bulldogs are fresh off winning the SEC Championship, yet Vegas has Notre Dame favored by 2.5 points. Some may argue this is due to Carson Beck’s injury, but that didn’t stop Georgia from rallying in the second half of their win over Texas in the SEC title game.
Despite being labeled as underdogs, Georgia has thrived in similar situations, boasting a perfect 3-0 record since 2021 when going into games as the underdog. This track record may provide some optimism for Bulldogs fans, who may even prefer being counted out by the betting markets heading into the Sugar Bowl.
