Alabama football received a major boost for the 2025 season with starting center Parker Brailsford announcing his return for his senior year. The decision is a key move for the Crimson Tide’s offensive line as Brailsford, who transferred from Washington, will play his second season in Tuscaloosa.
Brailsford shared his decision on Thursday, saying, “I’ll be coming back.” He discussed his choice with family, advisors, and people within the program before deciding to return, with overall consensus pointing toward another year in college.
After a standout first season at Alabama, Brailsford was considered a strong NFL Draft prospect, ranking as the No. 4 center by Mel Kiper Jr. for the 2025 draft. Earlier in the season, it seemed possible that all three interior offensive line spots would need to be replaced, as Brailsford, Tyler Booker, and Jaedan Roberts were all projected high draft picks.
With Brailsford’s return, Alabama could retain four offensive line starters, including Roberts, Kadyn Proctor, and Elijah Pritchett, although Booker is expected to declare for the draft as a potential first-round pick. Pritchett will face competition for the right tackle spot from Wilkin Formby or potentially a Transfer Portal addition.
Brailsford’s return provides Alabama with a reliable anchor and strong leadership on the offensive line, which will be crucial as the team prepares for the likely arrival of a new quarterback. He’ll enter the season on the Rimington Award watchlist and as a Preseason All-SEC selection, despite being overlooked in 2024.
