Georgia football continues to build on its strong recruiting efforts, recently landing a commitment from one of the top junior college (JUCO) players in the country. Defensive lineman Seven Cloud, ranked as the No. 2 JUCO player by ESPN, has officially announced he will be joining the Bulldogs.
Cloud’s commitment is a reunion of sorts. He was originally a member of the 2023 recruiting class and had verbally committed to Georgia out of high school. However, eligibility issues prevented him from making the jump to the SEC at that time, leading him to play for Butler Community College. Despite the detour, his ties to Georgia remained strong. UGA defensive line coach Tray Scott, who was instrumental in Cloud’s recruitment during his high school years, stayed in contact with the JUCO standout, ensuring that Georgia remained a top contender when he was ready to make his return to Division I football.
“Coach Scott has been there for me since high school,” Cloud said. “He’s glad I’m back playing football, and he told me he still wants me.”
Cloud’s recent performance at Butler Community College was impressive. In just six games this season, he recorded 48 tackles and 5.5 sacks, drawing significant attention from powerhouse programs such as Miami (FL), Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas. His dominant play has made him one of the most sought-after JUCO recruits in the country.
Now committed to Georgia, Cloud has an excellent opportunity to compete for immediate playing time. Known for his powerful presence on the defensive line, he will provide the Bulldogs with depth and the potential to be a key contributor in the years ahead. This addition further strengthens Georgia’s already formidable defense and adds to their impressive 2025 recruiting class.
