Georgia Bulldogs redshirt sophomore quarterback Gunner Stockton is set to take the reins for UGA in the Sugar Bowl following Carson Beck’s injury. While Stockton’s college career may be just beginning with only 51 career passing attempts, his high school tenure at Rabun County was nothing short of legendary.
Stockton made history as one of Georgia’s most prolific passers, setting the state record with 177 career passing touchdowns. He is also third all-time in Georgia high school passing yards, trailing only the likes of Georgia Tech’s Aaron Philo and former Clemson star Trevor Lawrence.
Over his four years at Rabun County, Stockton became known for his dazzling offensive performances, including five games where he surpassed 400 passing yards. His senior season was particularly memorable, with Stockton throwing for an astonishing 55 touchdowns—tied for the second-most in Georgia high school history.
Not just a passing threat, Stockton’s dual-threat capabilities made him even more dangerous. His 77 career rushing touchdowns rank him among the top 25 all-time in Georgia high school history, adding a dynamic element to his game.
In honor of his remarkable high school achievements, here’s a look back at Stockton’s senior-year highlights, featuring multiple six-touchdown games and an impressive display of arm strength, toughness, and precision. With such a decorated high school career, expectations are high as he prepares to make his first career start for Georgia in the upcoming Sugar Bowl.
