As the Auburn Tigers continue to fine-tune their roster for the 2025 season, tight end depth is a top priority. With Luke Deal and Rivaldo Fairweather out of eligibility and Micah Riley entering the transfer portal, Auburn has turned to the transfer market to address this need. Over the weekend, two notable tight ends visited the Plains: Khamari Anderson and Cody Hardy.
Anderson, a former Kentucky tight end, spent two seasons with the Wildcats but recorded limited production, with just six catches for 40 yards. Despite his quieter stint in Lexington, Anderson was drawn to Auburn’s dynamic use of tight ends, particularly how Auburn tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua utilizes the position. After seeing Auburn’s system in person, Anderson expressed his excitement: “It’s amazing. It’s different in person. How they utilized last year and how they plan to utilize me—it’s something to see. Crazy.”
Meanwhile, Cody Hardy, a former Elon tight end, is eager to make the jump to the FBS level and has already visited Oklahoma State and Cincinnati. Hardy, like Anderson, was impressed by the involvement of tight ends in Auburn’s offense. He believes the system suits his skill set and sees an opportunity to contribute immediately. “After talking for a little bit, watching some film, and seeing what they do here… everything they do with the tight ends looks like I would be a good fit here,” Hardy noted.
As Auburn looks to bolster its tight end group, these two transfers could be key additions, bringing both experience and the potential to make an immediate impact in 2025. The tight end position is one to watch in the transfer portal as Auburn aims to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season.
