Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker and tight end Trey McBride have been named to the NFC Pro Bowl squad for 2024, solidifying their positions as two of the league’s elite players. Baker, who has been a consistent force for the Cardinals, was selected as the starter at strong safety, marking his seventh Pro Bowl appearance and sixth consecutive selection. With 155 tackles and a career-high nine tackles for loss, Baker leads the Cardinals and has been the backbone of the team’s defense. His 155 tackles are the most by any NFL defensive back this season and the highest by a Cardinal since Pat Tillman in 2000. “It’s a blessing to be here with Arizona and stay as consistent as I can,” Baker said, emphasizing his dedication to daily improvement over accolades.
McBride, in only his third season, has been a revelation for the Cardinals. With 104 receptions and 1,081 yards—both franchise records for a tight end—McBride earned his first Pro Bowl selection. His performance this season places him among the league’s top tight ends, and he’s already in the conversation for the most receptions in a tight end’s first three seasons. “This has been a huge goal of mine since I was a little kid,” McBride said of his Pro Bowl selection. The former Colorado State standout is also on track to surpass George Kittle and Jimmy Graham for the most receptions by a tight end in their first three seasons in NFL history.
In addition to Baker and McBride, three Cardinals earned Pro Bowl alternate spots: kick returner DeeJay Dallas, left tackle Paris Johnson Jr., and kicker Chad Ryland. These alternate selections highlight the Cardinals’ strong contributions in multiple facets of the game, particularly as the team looks to build for the future.
The 2024 Pro Bowl games will be held in Orlando, Florida, with various competitions culminating in a 7-on-7 flag football game on February 2. For Baker and McBride, their Pro Bowl selections serve as a well-deserved recognition of their exceptional play this season.
