Auburn’s ambitious renovation of Jordan-Hare Stadium is well underway, with the North End Zone set to undergo a significant transformation. The project, which began in July, will start with the installation of a massive new video board that measures 47 feet high by 154 feet wide—though smaller than the South End Zone’s screen, it’s still a massive upgrade over the 1987 analog scoreboard that previously stood in the North.
While the video board is the first step, it’s only the beginning of a much larger project. Athletic Director John Cohen highlighted the importance of these upgrades, which are not just for aesthetics but for the future of Auburn football. The entire North End Zone will be renovated to include expanded concourse space, premium fan experiences, and a multi-use facility aimed at improving both the fan experience and the program’s financial future.
Cohen and his team are currently working to finalize the architectural plans and set a budget for the next phases of construction. “Everything’s still on the table,” Cohen said in a recent interview with the Montgomery Advertiser. “There are budgeting matters that have to be dealt with. You have to create pro formas that allow you to compare what this is going to cost to how much revenue is going to be brought in. It’s a process.”
The goal, according to Cohen, is to not only enhance the stadium but to create a sustainable revenue stream for Auburn athletics. He stressed that these improvements are crucial for the long-term success of the football program and the entire athletic department.
As the project progresses, Auburn fans can look forward to a revamped stadium that will blend tradition with modern amenities. While the North End Zone’s upgrades are just getting started, Cohen’s team remains focused on delivering a state-of-the-art facility that benefits both the program and the fans for years to come.
