Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young is officially back with the team and participating in full spring practices after missing most of the 2024 season due to a suspension. Young was sidelined following a domestic incident but ultimately resolved the case without serious punishment. Now, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has confirmed that Young is reinstated and fully cleared to play.
This is a huge boost for Georgia’s receiving corps, which struggled last season. Smart has already strengthened the group by bringing in top talents, including Zachariah Branch and Noah Thomas from the transfer portal, along with five-star freshman Talyn Taylor. Adding Young to this mix gives the Bulldogs an even deeper and more talented wide receiver room heading into the 2025 season.
Before his suspension, Young had 11 receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns in just five games. However, his production in previous seasons proves his potential—he combined for 79 catches, 939 yards, and 10 touchdowns between 2022 and 2023. His return provides Georgia with a proven playmaker who can make an immediate impact.
With spring practice underway, Young has the opportunity to shake off any rust and integrate back into the offense. If he returns to his previous form, he could be a key piece in Georgia’s offensive success this season.
