With Kentucky’s 2024-25 basketball season officially in the books, several Wildcats are taking time to assess their futures. Following the team’s NCAA Tournament exit, players were asked about their plans—though most weren’t ready to commit to a decision just yet.
Otega Oweh, one of Kentucky’s most crucial pieces heading into next season, dismissed any speculation for now. When asked if he had thought about entering the draft or returning, he simply shook his head and said, “I haven’t thought about none of that.”
Brandon Garrison, who still has two years of eligibility remaining, echoed a similar sentiment. “I’m gonna talk to Coach Pope and the staff and see what’s next for me, my family, and my agent and stuff,” he said. Garrison’s decision could be significant, as he was a key piece in the Wildcats’ frontcourt this past season.
For Kentucky’s freshmen, the situation remains just as uncertain. Collin Chandler admitted that he hasn’t considered his next steps, instead staying focused on the season that just ended. “I haven’t thought about that whatsoever,” he said. However, Chandler did emphasize his trust in head coach Mark Pope, adding that he feels confident about his decision to commit to Kentucky.
One player who gave a more concrete answer was Travis Perry, who firmly stated that he intends to return. “Yeah, certainly,” he confirmed when asked about his sophomore season in Lexington.
Meanwhile, Trent Noah didn’t offer a definitive statement on his future but spoke highly of Pope’s leadership. “It’s definitely in great hands. We won’t be slowing down anytime soon with a great person at the head,” he said. Noah praised the team’s chemistry and his strong bond with Pope, reinforcing optimism about the program’s future.
While many Wildcats remain undecided, the early indications suggest that Kentucky could retain key pieces heading into the 2025-26 season. With roster decisions still up in the air, Big Blue Nation will be keeping a close eye on the next steps for these players in the coming weeks.
