BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tennessee women’s tennis junior Catherine Aulia has been recognized for her outstanding contributions both on and off the court, earning a spot on the 2025 SEC Community Service Team. The announcement was made on Thursday, with Aulia being the 15th Lady Volunteer to achieve this honor, marking the 22nd occurrence in program history.
Aulia, originally from Rosebery, Australia, has demonstrated an impressive commitment to community service, logging 45 service hours this year. Her efforts include a wide range of initiatives, with notable participation in the VOLeaders Academy program, which took her to South Africa and Botswana last summer. Additionally, Aulia has been involved in Kickball with Curt and Friends and National Girls and Women in Sport Day, hosted by Girls Inc. These activities highlight her dedication to giving back and positively impacting those around her.
Head coach Alison Ojeda praised Aulia for her exceptional character, stating, “Catherine Aulia is an incredible person who makes a positive impact on those around her. Whether it’s a teammate, a coach, or someone in our community, she makes you feel like you matter. That’s a great quality to have and one of the many reasons our community loves her.”
On the court, Aulia continues to shine as one of the team’s top performers. She has maintained a spot in the ITA National rankings throughout the season, with notable achievements including 22 singles victories and 23 doubles wins. Her impressive performance also includes a hard-fought 6-4, 6-7(8), 7-5 win against No. 17 Julia Garcia Ruiz at No. 12 Oklahoma, which remains one of her season’s highlights.
Aulia’s inclusion in the SEC Community Service Team underscores her exemplary character and commitment to service, adding to her already impressive tennis career. Her recognition serves as an inspiration for her peers and showcases the powerful impact athletes can have both in sport and in their communities.
The Tennessee women’s tennis program celebrates Aulia’s achievements, both as a dedicated student-athlete and a compassionate community leader.
