Nebraska basketball has added a significant piece to its roster with the transfer of Ugnius Jarusevicius, a standout junior forward from Central Michigan. This marks the second transfer commitment for the Huskers in as many days, signaling an active and productive offseason for Head Coach Fred Hoiberg and his staff.
Jarusevicius, a 6-foot-10 forward from Lithuania, brings a wealth of experience and talent to Nebraska. He had a breakout season with the Chippewas, averaging 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while starting 24 of the 26 games he played. His efficiency was a highlight, shooting 53.7% from the field and demonstrating his versatility by hitting 31% from beyond the arc. His performance earned him first-team All-MAC honors, solidifying his reputation as one of the top forwards in the conference.
Before joining Central Michigan, Jarusevicius played two seasons at Cal State Bakersfield, where he gained valuable collegiate experience. He was particularly impressive during the SoCal Challenge, earning All-Tournament honors after scoring a combined 24 points in games against Sacramento State and Tarleton State.
Jarusevicius also has extensive international experience, having represented Lithuania in multiple youth tournaments. He was a key player for Lithuania’s runner-up finish at the 2022 FIBA Under-20 European Championship and previously competed in the Under-16 and Under-18 European Championships. His international background adds a layer of maturity and competitiveness to his game, making him a valuable addition to Nebraska’s roster.
