Mark Pope, head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, has announced the return of the university’s annual Father/Son and Father/Daughter basketball camps. These events, presented by White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics, will take place on June 7 and 8 on the University of Kentucky campus. Open to boys and girls aged 7-17, the camps promise a day of basketball drills, bonding, and unforgettable memories for participants and their fathers.
The Father/Son Camp kicks off on June 7, running from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration begins that morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Joe Craft Center lobby. Meanwhile, the Father/Daughter Camp follows on June 8, with the same schedule and registration details. Both events will utilize the Joe Craft Center and Historic Memorial Coliseum, immersing attendees in the rich basketball atmosphere of Kentucky’s storied program.
Each camp costs $265 per duo, with an additional $125 fee for each extra child. Registration is now open on a first-come, first-served basis, and online sign-ups are encouraged for convenience. Participants will receive confirmation emails detailing required documents, such as physical and insurance forms, along with a checklist of items to bring.
The camps offer hands-on instruction from Kentucky players and staff, giving young fans a glimpse into the life of a Wildcat. Attendees will sharpen their shooting, dribbling, and passing skills while exploring the basketball facilities. Certified athletic trainers and staff will be on-site to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all.
“These camps are a fantastic opportunity to bring families closer together while sharing the love of basketball,” Coach Pope said. “It’s also a great way for kids to meet our players and get a taste of what it’s like to be part of Big Blue Nation.”
Last year’s camps received high praise for their organization and the unique experience they provided. This year, Coach Pope and the Wildcats aim to build on that success as they welcome a new generation of young basketball enthusiasts to campus.
