Kentucky basketball commit Andrija Jelavic continues to make waves in the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) League as his professional season with Serbian club Mega Basket approaches its conclusion. The 6-foot-10 stretch forward demonstrated his versatility and clutch ability in Mega Basket’s recent 83-81 victory over Derby. Jelavic played a pivotal role, contributing 15 points on 5-9 shooting (1-4 from three), seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 32 minutes of action. His late-game three-pointer broke a tie and ultimately secured the win for his team.
This standout performance is just the latest in an impressive season for Jelavic. Over 26 games, the 20-year-old has averaged 11 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and one steal per game. Shooting 50% from the field, 32% from beyond the arc, and 68% from the free-throw line, Jelavic has shown significant growth, particularly as a switchable defender and reliable scoring option.
As Mega Basket prepares for its regular-season finale against Partizan on May 2, Jelavic remains focused on helping his team advance deep into the postseason, which begins May 9. If Mega Basket reaches the finals, his season could extend into mid-June, leaving little time before joining the Kentucky Wildcats for summer workouts.
Jelavic’s skill set has drawn praise from scouts and analysts alike. “[His greatest strengths] are his size, finishing, handling, and rebounding,” said Arman Jovic, a scout with PDT Scouting. “He can do a lot in the offense. He can play into that Andrew Carr role as a multi-positional stretch big.”
Despite playing in a mid-level league, Jelavic has impressed with his ability to compete against experienced professionals. His standout game earlier this season, a 23-point, 14-rebound performance against Partizan, further solidified his reputation as a promising international prospect.
