Andrew Carr, a 6-foot-11, 235-pound forward for the Kentucky Wildcats, has been invited to the 2025 NBA G League Elite Camp, which will take place May 9–11 in Chicago. This makes him the fourth Wildcat to receive an invite, joining teammates Lamont Butler, Amari Williams, and incoming transfer guard Jaland Lowe from Pitt. The G League Elite Camp serves as a prelude to the NBA Draft Combine, scheduled for May 11–18, also in Chicago. Players who impress during the camp can earn an invitation to the Combine, where they’ll have an opportunity to boost their NBA Draft stock in front of league executives, scouts, and coaches.
During the 2024–25 season—his lone year at Kentucky—Carr averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists over 24 minutes per game. Despite battling back spasms midseason that caused him to miss time and affected his performance, Carr remained a reliable contributor. He started 29 of the 35 games he played and shot 54.5% from the field, 32.4% from three-point range, and 74.8% from the free-throw line. Known as a “stretch forward,” Carr provided size and offensive versatility, earning praise for his clutch plays in key moments throughout the season.
Carr began his collegiate career at Delaware (2020–22) before transferring to Wake Forest (2022–24), eventually joining Kentucky for his final season. Though his overall numbers dipped slightly with the Wildcats—largely due to his injury—Carr was still a valuable piece in head coach Mark Pope’s first year at the helm. His experience, shooting ability, and leadership were especially important during Kentucky’s NCAA Tournament run.
Currently, Carr is not featured in any major 2025 NBA mock drafts, but he is ranked No. 97 on ESPN’s NBA Draft Big Board. A strong performance at the G League Elite Camp could help him move up the rankings and secure a Combine invite. His journey reflects the challenges and opportunities faced by college veterans looking to carve out a professional basketball career.
The 2025 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 25–26 in Brooklyn, New York. As the draft approaches, Carr and other Wildcats will look to make their mark during this critical evaluation period.
