Duke University’s head basketball coach, Jon Scheyer, and his wife, Marcelle Provencial, have joyfully announced the arrival of their fourth child, adding to their growing family. The couple, who met at Duke in 2010 and married in 2017, are already parents to three children: Noa Marie (born January 2018), Jett James (August 2019), and James Russell (May 2022) .
Marcelle, a family nurse practitioner, has been a steadfast supporter of Jon’s coaching career. She has expressed immense pride in his role at Duke, stating that seeing him coach at the university is a “dream come true” and hopes he continues in this position indefinitely .
Beyond their family life, the Scheyers are actively involved in community initiatives. In 2022, they launched the Scheyer Kid Captain program in partnership with Duke Children’s Hospital. This initiative allows young patients to spend a game day with the Duke basketball team, attend practices, and be honored during games. Marcelle has shared that participating in this program is deeply moving, often bringing her to tears, and she feels honored to lead such an inspiring initiative .
As the Scheyer family celebrates this new addition, the Duke community joins in their joy, reflecting the strong bond between the coach, his family, and the university. This personal milestone adds to the positive momentum surrounding Duke’s basketball program under Jon Scheyer’s leadership.
