— As the Oklahoma Sooners continue to etch their names into the record books with another dominant postseason showing, one rising star is already dreaming of joining the dynasty. Allyssa Parker, a top-tier recruit and recent OU softball commit, says she’s “proud and honored” to be part of a program that’s become synonymous with excellence, grit, and championship culture.
Parker, a standout infielder from Broken Arrow High School, committed to the University of Oklahoma earlier this year. Widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class, she’s known for her powerful bat, quick reflexes, and fierce competitive spirit—traits that have already drawn comparisons to several current Sooners stars.
As Oklahoma advanced to yet another Women’s College World Series title series this June, Parker said watching the team’s historic run unfold has only deepened her admiration for head coach Patty Gasso and the program’s relentless pursuit of greatness.
“Watching them compete at that level, the energy, the teamwork, the fight—it gives me chills,” Parker said. “It’s more than just softball. It’s about representing something bigger than yourself. That’s the kind of team I want to be part of.”
Oklahoma, already a multiple-time national champion, is aiming for its fourth consecutive title—something no Division I softball program has ever accomplished. Their dominance this season, backed by elite pitching, explosive offense, and airtight defense, has drawn national attention, and Parker is soaking it all in as she prepares for her own collegiate journey.
“I’ve grown up watching OU softball. Now, knowing I’ll wear that jersey and contribute to that legacy someday—it’s surreal,” Parker said. “It motivates me to train harder every day.”
Parker also expressed deep respect for Coach Gasso, whose leadership has transformed the Sooners into one of the most decorated programs in NCAA history.
“She’s a legend, and the way she empowers her players—on and off the field—is something special. I’m grateful for the chance to learn from her and grow not just as a player, but as a person,” Parker said.
With the Sooners continuing to blaze a trail in the national spotlight, Parker’s commitment reflects the program’s future as much as its present. As one chapter nears a thrilling conclusion in Oklahoma City, another is just beginning—with Parker ready to take her place in Sooner history.
