East Lansing, MI — Michigan State University’s cheerleading squad has soared to unprecedented heights, earning the title of “Best in the World” by ESPN. This historic recognition comes in the wake of their mesmerizing performance at the 2025 World Collegiate Cheerleading Championship, where the Spartans captured the hearts of audiences and judges alike.

    A Performance for the Ages

The MSU cheerleaders delivered a flawless routine that blended athleticism, artistry, and innovation. Their performance included gravity-defying stunts, synchronized tumbling passes, and intricate choreography that showcased both individual talent and collective precision. The energy was palpable as the team executed each move with unwavering confidence and unity.

Head coach Amanda Briggs, a former All-American cheerleader herself, described the performance as “the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.” She added, “This isn’t just about the trophy—it’s about showing the world what Spartan pride and perseverance look like.”

    A Legacy of Excellence

Michigan State has long been a powerhouse in collegiate cheerleading, consistently placing in the top rankings at national and international competitions. However, this year’s squad has set a new standard for excellence. ESPN analysts praised the team for pushing the boundaries of cheerleading, with one commentator noting, “They’ve redefined the sport with their creativity and execution.”

    Community and Campus Celebration

The announcement of the squad’s victory sparked celebrations across the Michigan State campus. Students gathered at Spartan Stadium to watch a replay of the performance on the jumbotron, and social media lit up with messages of pride and congratulations. The hashtag #SpartansSoar trended nationwide, as fans and alumni shared their excitement.

University President Teresa Woodruff commended the team, saying, “This achievement is a testament to the talent, discipline, and spirit of our student-athletes. They’ve made Michigan State and the entire Spartan community incredibly proud.”

    Impact Beyond the Spotlight

The cheerleaders’ success has inspired younger athletes and elevated the profile of collegiate cheerleading. “This isn’t just about winning a title,” said senior captain Mia Henderson. “It’s about inspiring the next generation to dream big and work hard, no matter what challenges come their way.”

As the Spartans continue to celebrate this landmark achievement, their performance serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of teamwork, dedication, and Spartan grit. For Michigan State’s cheerleading squad, the sky is truly the limit.
