EAST LANSING, MI — The Michigan State Track & Field and Cross Country program has added another proud chapter to its legacy of excellence as Andrew Nolan has been named an Honorable Mention All-American, recognizing his standout performance during the 2025 outdoor season.
Nolan, a senior distance runner and team leader, earned the honor following a strong showing in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Though he narrowly missed out on First or Second-Team recognition, his placement among the top finishers in the nation earned him this prestigious mention, solidifying his status as one of the country’s elite collegiate long-distance runners.
A Season of Grit and Consistency
Throughout the 2024–25 season, Nolan impressed with consistent finishes, top conference placements, and a determination that reflected Spartan toughness. At the Big Ten Championships, he placed in the top five in both the 5K and 10K, helping MSU earn crucial team points and pushing himself into national qualifying position.
“Andrew is one of the hardest-working, most dependable athletes we’ve ever had,” said MSU Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lisa Breznau. “He sets the tone in practice, leads with integrity, and competes with all his heart. This All-American honor is a testament to his commitment to the sport and to Michigan State.”
A Leader Beyond the Track
Nolan isn’t just known for his endurance on the track—he’s also a standout student and mentor. Majoring in Human Biology, he has consistently earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and has taken part in multiple leadership and community service initiatives on campus. His ability to balance academic rigor with athletic excellence has earned the respect of coaches, teammates, and fans alike.
Looking Ahead
With this national recognition, Andrew Nolan concludes his MSU career with distinction. His impact will be felt long after the spikes are hung up—through the culture of leadership, selflessness, and Spartan pride that he helped cultivate.
Congratulations, Andrew — your journey has inspired us all, and your Spartan story is one for the books.
