EAST LANSING, MI — July 3, 2025 — The Michigan State Spartans have added a burst of speed and electrifying talent to their roster with the official signing of Jeremy Dixon, an elite sprinter who’s ready to make waves in East Lansing. With impressive times and a drive that matches the Spartan work ethic, Dixon brings instant impact potential to both the Track & Field and Cross Country programs.
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Dixon is known for his explosive starts and strong finishes in the 100m and 200m sprints. He posted personal bests of 10.35 in the 100m and 20.89 in the 200m during his senior year, earning him state championship medals and national recognition. Coaches across the country took notice, but in the end, it was Michigan State’s commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the track that sealed the deal.
“I chose Michigan State because it felt like family,” Dixon said. “The coaching staff, the facilities, the tradition — everything felt right. I’m excited to grow here and help bring some heat to the Big Ten.”
A Future Star in Green and White
Dixon will add depth and competitive firepower to the Spartans’ sprinting squad, which has seen steady growth under head coach Lisa Breznau and her dynamic staff. His ability to perform under pressure and deliver big performances in championship environments is expected to elevate MSU’s relay teams and individual sprint events.
“Jeremy is the kind of athlete you dream of recruiting,” said Coach Breznau. “He’s got raw speed, technical polish, and the mindset to thrive in a collegiate environment. But more than that, he’s a high-character young man who embodies everything we want in this program.”
Balancing Speed and Studies
Off the track, Dixon plans to major in Sports Management, aiming to one day work in athletic development or coaching. His academic focus and strong leadership in high school earned him multiple scholar-athlete honors, and he’s already expressed interest in joining MSU’s student-athlete leadership programs.
