Chapel Hill, NC – In a groundbreaking move that blends legacy, leadership, and inspiration, the University of North Carolina has officially announced that former Tar Heels basketball legend Vince Carter has been named the new Athletic Director. Carter, revered for his electrifying college and NBA career, becomes the first former North Carolina men’s basketball player to hold the university’s top athletic leadership role. Carter replaces Bubba Cunningham, who announced his retirement after more than a decade of service.
