In a moment filled with joy, faith, and heartfelt gratitude, Florida Gators legend Tim Tebow and his wife, Demi-Leigh Tebow, have welcomed their first child into the world. The couple announced the birth of their daughter, Daphne Reign Tebow, on July 6, with Demi-Leigh sharing the news publicly on July 7 via social media.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for the blessing and gift of this new little life,” Demi-Leigh wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of her cradling Daphne in a hospital bed. “We’re so grateful to the whole medical team that assisted us in the best way possible during my labor and delivery.”
Daphne’s name carries deep personal meaning. She is named after Demi-Leigh’s great aunt — “a tiny, kind and strong South African woman who always had shortbread in the house, was the epitome of grit and grace, loved Jesus, had the voice of an angel and made everyone feel seen and special.”
The couple, who married in January 2020 after meeting in 2018, had announced earlier this year in January 2025 that they were expecting their first child. The birth of Daphne marks a new and exciting chapter for one of the most admired couples in the sports and faith communities.
Demi-Leigh continued her message with deep appreciation for the outpouring of support: “Thank you to everyone who’s been praying with us over her arrival. We are so incredibly thankful for all of the love and support we’ve felt.”
Tim Tebow, widely considered one of the greatest players in Florida Gators history and a cornerstone of college football excellence, led the Gators to two national championships in 2006 and 2008. He became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023. Known for his leadership, compassion, and outspoken faith, Tebow has continued to impact lives far beyond the football field through philanthropic efforts and motivational speaking.
With the arrival of Daphne Reign, the Tebows are embracing parenthood with the same values they’ve long lived by: faith, love, and service to others. The Gator Nation and fans around the world are celebrating with them during this beautiful new beginning.
