LEXINGTON, KY — Few names evoke the same level of clutch magic and Big Blue pride as Aaron Harrison, the Kentucky Wildcats legend whose unforgettable NCAA Tournament moments are etched into the heart of every Wildcat fan. As the Big Blue Nation continues to honor its stars from past and present, a new wave of appreciation has swept across Kentucky fandom—this time for the man who delivered in the biggest moments.
Harrison, a former McDonald’s All-American, joined the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2013–2014 season alongside his twin brother, Andrew. Under head coach John Calipari, Aaron became a household name with his calm demeanor, lethal shooting, and fearlessness in pressure-packed situations.
But what truly immortalized him in Kentucky basketball history were his three consecutive game-winning three-pointers in the 2014 NCAA Tournament—against Louisville in the Sweet 16, Michigan in the Elite Eight, and Wisconsin in the Final Four. Each shot came in the final minute of the game, and each one delivered a knockout punch that propelled Kentucky to the national championship game. Though the Wildcats fell just short of the title that year, Aaron Harrison’s legacy as a March Madness hero was cemented forever.
Now, more than a decade later, Wildcat fans are once again expressing their love and appreciation for Harrison’s contributions to the program. Social media platforms have been flooded with heartfelt posts, old highlights, and touching tributes, reminding fans of a time when Harrison’s cool clutch gene captivated the nation.
“Aaron Harrison gave us some of the most iconic moments in Kentucky basketball history,” said one longtime fan. “Those shots still give me chills.”
Off the court, Harrison has represented the University of Kentucky with dignity, humility, and pride. After his collegiate career, he went on to play professionally in the NBA and overseas, continuing to inspire with his work ethic and resilience.
As Kentucky enters a new era under head coach Mark Pope, the program continues to celebrate its rich tradition and its stars of the past. And today, Aaron Harrison is once again in the spotlight—not just for his legendary shots, but for the spirit and heart he brought to the Kentucky blue.
From the fans of Big Blue Nation: Aaron Harrison, we appreciate you too!
