LEXINGTON, Ky. — Just weeks into his transition from Eastern Kentucky to the storied halls of Kentucky basketball, Trent Noah is already earning high praise from his new teammates—and turning heads inside the Joe Craft Center.

The 6-foot-6 sharpshooter, who starred at Harlan County and became a Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist before committing to the Wildcats, has wasted no time adjusting to the intensity and expectations that come with wearing the blue and white. But it’s not just his on-court skills that are drawing attention—it’s his attitude, leadership, and relentless work ethic that have teammates buzzing.

“He fits in like he’s been here for years,” one veteran Wildcat said. “The guy can shoot it, he plays hard, and he doesn’t back down. He’s a real competitor.”

Noah’s transition to Kentucky comes after an eye-catching high school career in which he averaged over 27 points and 11 rebounds per game his senior season. Known for his deadly perimeter shooting and tough rebounding for a wing, Noah brings the kind of gritty, team-first mentality that head coach Mark Pope values as he rebuilds Kentucky’s program under a new era.

Pope, who has emphasized culture, discipline, and high-level shooting as foundational pillars of his system, has praised Noah’s ability to adapt quickly and contribute on both ends of the floor. “Trent’s toughness and love for the game stand out every day,” Pope reportedly told staff. “He’s the kind of guy who makes everyone around him better.”

Noah’s humility has also resonated well with the Big Blue Nation. Rather than seek the spotlight, he’s remained focused on growing and competing.

“This is a dream come true,” Noah said during a recent practice. “All I want to do is work hard, learn from my teammates and coaches, and help this team win.”

With preseason workouts heating up and excitement surrounding Kentucky’s revamped roster, Trent Noah looks poised to play a valuable role—not just as a shooter or utility player, but as a young leader with the heart of a champion.
