West Virginia University’s women’s basketball program is turning up the heat ahead of the 2025-26 season with the release of a thrilling nonconference schedule that promises intense competition, memorable venues, and a showcase of talent on both national and international stages.

Dubbed a season of “Mountaineer Madness,” the upcoming schedule features seven home games, giving fans in Morgantown plenty of opportunities to rally behind the team at the WVU Coliseum. These matchups will serve as a proving ground for a roster full of rising stars and seasoned leaders, aiming to set the tone before entering conference play.

Adding to the excitement is a standalone showcase game at the prestigious Greenbrier Resort, a location known for its elegance, history, and growing reputation as a sporting destination. The Greenbrier matchup isn’t just another game on the calendar — it’s a branding opportunity and a bold statement that WVU basketball is willing to go where tradition meets spectacle.

But the Mountaineers aren’t stopping there. In a move that blends competition with Caribbean flair, the team is also set to participate in the Baha Mar Championship in the Bahamas, marking two critical games in a neutral-site setting. These contests not only test the team’s adaptability away from home but also position WVU on a global stage. The sunny shores of Nassau will become the battleground where experience meets exposure, giving the Mountaineers a chance to sharpen their skills against top-tier programs under international lights.

This coast-to-coast — and even coast-to-island — schedule reflects more than just logistics; it reflects intent. It’s a deliberate effort by the coaching staff to challenge the team early, foster team chemistry in diverse settings, and draw national attention to a program that continues to grow in competitiveness and ambition.

With strategic home games, iconic venues like the Greenbrier, and international matchups designed to stretch the team’s potential, WVU women’s basketball is stepping into the 2025-26 season with momentum, vision, and a hunger for greatness.

The madness has begun — and Mountaineer Nation better be ready.
