    — The legend of Georgia Amoore continues to grow, and her coach believes it’s only the beginning. Following a career-defining 43-point performance in No. 12 Kentucky’s thrilling victory over No. 13 Oklahoma, head coach Carla Whitaker didn’t hold back in her praise for the Wildcats’ senior point guard.

“She’s the best point guard this program has ever had,” Whitaker said after the game, her voice filled with both pride and certainty. “Georgia is the engine that drives us. Her vision, her leadership, and her ability to take over a game when we need it most — that’s what separates her. I have no doubt she’ll be a star at the next level.”

Amoore, a transfer from Virginia Tech who quickly became the face of Kentucky women’s basketball, has transformed the Wildcats into one of the most feared teams in the nation. Known for her lightning-quick first step, deep shooting range, and fearless playmaking, she has elevated the program to heights rarely seen in Lexington.

Her 43-point outburst against Oklahoma was more than just a scoring display — it was a showcase of everything scouts love about her. Amoore nailed seven three-pointers, dished out eight assists, and even came up with three steals in a game that will be remembered as a turning point in Kentucky’s season.

WNBA analysts have already pegged her as a projected first-round pick in the upcoming 2025 draft, with some even suggesting she could sneak into the top five. Her combination of scoring prowess and leadership qualities make her an ideal fit for professional basketball, where guards who can both orchestrate and finish are in high demand.

Off the court, Amoore has endeared herself to the Big Blue Nation with her humility and relentless work ethic. She often spends extra hours in the gym, and teammates say her dedication is contagious. “She makes all of us better,” said senior forward Alisha McCray. “You can’t help but raise your level when you play with Georgia.”

For now, Amoore remains focused on finishing her college career on a high note. Kentucky’s eyes are firmly set on a deep NCAA Tournament run, and with Amoore leading the way, belief is soaring.

Still, as her coach made clear, her story is only beginning. “Georgia Amoore will go down in history here,” Whitaker said. “And the WNBA hasn’t seen anything yet.”
