Bayern Munich are moving quickly to protect one of their most prized assets. According to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, the Bundesliga champions are preparing a two-year contract extension for Michael Olise, a move that would keep the dazzling winger at the Allianz Arena until 2031 — and, naturally, come with a hefty pay rise.
The decision comes as Real Madrid have reportedly stepped up their admiration for the 23-year-old Frenchman, who has been one of the breakout stars of Bayern’s modern era. Los Blancos are said to be keeping close tabs on Olise’s form, with Liverpool also monitoring the situation, adding yet another layer of intrigue to one of Europe’s most captivating transfer narratives.
Since joining from Crystal Palace, Olise has become a crowd favourite in Bavaria. His blend of explosive pace, close control, and effortless flair has added a new dimension to Bayern’s attack. Already, he has contributed vital goals and assists in both Bundesliga and Champions League fixtures, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Vincent Kompany’s rejuvenated side.
Sources close to the club indicate that Bayern want to act decisively to avoid another “Toni Kroos scenario” — where a home-grown or recently developed star leaves only to flourish elsewhere. By locking Olise into a long-term deal, Bayern not only secure stability in a changing squad but also send a strong message to Europe’s elite that their young stars are not for sale.
A renewal would also make financial sense. With Real Madrid and Premier League clubs capable of offering eye-watering salaries, Bayern are believed to be ready to reward Olise with a new wage package reportedly in the €20–25 million per-season range. Such an investment would reflect his importance both on and off the pitch — as the club’s marketing appeal and attacking identity increasingly revolve around him.
Still, Olise holds the cards. Those close to the player suggest he is happy in Munich, enjoying the project and the trust Kompany has shown. Yet, with Madrid circling and England calling, the Frenchman will have plenty to consider.
For now, though, Bayern remain confident — and determined — to ensure that Michael Olise’s brightest years are written in red and white.
