- Bayern Munich have pulled off another major signing — and this time, it’s not a striker but a sales sniper. The club has officially announced the arrival of Rouven Kasper from VfB Stuttgart as their new board member for marketing and sales. So yes, Bayern just bought… marketing muscle.
Kasper, a 43-year-old sports economist with a CV fancier than the Allianz Arena’s trophy cabinet, will officially take charge on January 1, 2026. Previously a big name at VfB Stuttgart, he’ll now swap the Swabian hills for the Bavarian peaks — and probably a fancier office.
This isn’t Kasper’s first rodeo in Munich. Between 2016 and 2021, he served as President of Bayern’s Asia-Pacific division, helping expand the club’s global reach (and probably teaching half of Tokyo to say Mia San Mia).
Club president Herbert Hainer couldn’t contain his excitement, calling Kasper “a strong addition with international experience in a strategically important area.” Translation: our marketing is about to go full super-saiyan. Hainer also thanked Stuttgart president Dietmar Allgaier for “constructive and trusting discussions,” which sounds very polite for “thanks for letting us poach your guy.”
Kasper, meanwhile, sounded as thrilled as a kid unwrapping a Bayern home shirt at Christmas. “This great job is both an honour and an incentive,” he said. “We must continue to increase our appeal as a top global club with Bavarian roots.” In short: more fans, more shirts, more trophies, more everything.
Reports from Kicker (via @iMiaSanMia) had revealed that negotiations were already brewing between Bayern and Stuttgart, with Bayern even ready to pay compensation — because yes, apparently executives have transfer fees now. Both clubs’ presidents led the talks, and once Kasper made it clear he wanted to return “home,” the deal was basically done faster than a Jamal Musiala dribble.
As Bayern cruises toward another Champions League campaign, this move further strengthens their off-field empire. With Harry Kane banging in goals and Kasper ready to boost the brand, the Bavarians are winning both on the pitch and in the boardroom.
Who needs another winger when you can sign a marketing mastermind?
