Energy, talent, and community pride were on full display as the Parramatta Junior Rugby League officially celebrated the close of its 2025 season — a year marked by record participation, inspiring performances, and renewed spirit across Western Sydney.
The 2025 campaign has been hailed as one of the most successful in the league’s proud history, bringing together more than 6,000 young players from over 25 affiliated clubs under the Parramatta District Rugby League umbrella. From the under-6s to the senior youth divisions, the season showcased not just athleticism, but also the values that define rugby league at its grassroots — teamwork, respect, and resilience.
At the league’s annual presentation gala held at CommBank Stadium, players, coaches, and volunteers were honored for their contributions to another remarkable year. Special recognition went to the Wentworthville Magpies and Cabramatta Two Blues for their strong performances across multiple age divisions, while the Guildford Owls were awarded the prestigious Club of the Year title for their consistent excellence both on and off the field.
Parramatta Eels representatives, including several NRL stars and development staff, attended the celebration to inspire the next generation. They applauded the efforts of the league’s young talents and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to fostering pathways for junior players aspiring to wear the blue and gold at the professional level.
League General Manager Matt Brady praised the dedication of families, coaches, and volunteers who have “kept the heart of local rugby league beating strong.” He emphasized how the growth of the junior league is not just about sport, but about “building character, friendships, and a sense of belonging.”
Looking ahead to 2026, the Parramatta Junior League plans to expand its community engagement programs, enhance female participation, and introduce new coaching initiatives aimed at nurturing safe and inclusive competition.
As the sun sets on the 2025 season, the message from all involved is clear — the spirit of rugby league in Parramatta is alive, proud, and ready for an even brighter future.
