Some players arrive as stars. Others arrive as family. For the Parramatta Eels, the signing of Kelma Tuilagi is more than a roster move—it is the beginning of a journey built on heart, hope, and a belief in what comes next. A young man who plays with power, passion, and the humility of a teammate-first warrior, Tuilagi steps into Parramatta not just to wear a jersey, but to honor a community, a culture, and a club that believes in him. Sometimes the sweetest victories begin with a new smile in the locker room—and today, Eels fans are smiling bright.
The Parramatta Eels have officially strengthened their forward pack with the signing of Samoan international Kelma Tuilagi on a two-year contract that will keep him in blue and gold until the end of the 2025 season. The club confirmed the announcement on Friday, expressing confidence that the powerful edge forward will add size, aggression, and impact to the roster beginning in 2024.
Tuilagi, 24, made his NRL debut with the Wests Tigers in 2021 and has since played 44 first-grade games, most recently representing the Manly Sea Eagles during the 2023 campaign. Known for his strong carries, offloading ability, and defensive physicality, the young forward arrives at Parramatta with valuable experience and plenty of development still ahead.
On the international stage, Tuilagi proudly represented Samoa at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup, playing a role in the nation’s historic run to the Final. The Eels see that high-pressure experience as a major asset as they build toward another finals push.
Parramatta’s General Manager of Football, Mark O’Neill, praised the signing:
“We are pleased that Kelma has chosen to join the Club for the 2024 and 2025 season. At 24, we think his best football is ahead of him, and he will provide a strong contribution to the squad next season.”
Tuilagi will officially join the NRL squad when preseason training resumes next month, giving him a full summer to fit into Brad Arthur’s system and compete for a starting role. His arrival strengthens depth, intensity, and the club’s forward rotation, which the Eels aim to sharpen ahead of a major rebound year.
For a club built on fight, family, and pride, Kelma Tuilagi fits right in. And as preseason approaches, Eels fans can feel something exciting brewing—new strength, new energy, and new hope… wrapped in blue and gold.
