The Parramatta Eels have officially launched a groundbreaking educational initiative that is already touching hearts across the community — the Eels Institute — a place where passion meets opportunity, and dreams are given real wings.
In partnership with TAFE Queensland, the club will provide two Dual Diploma programs, giving students a rare chance to earn nationally recognised qualifications while learning inside the beating heart of a professional sporting organisation.
Available pathways include:
✅ Diploma of Sport + Diploma of Leadership & Management
✅ Diploma of Sport + Diploma of Project Management
Learning will take place at the Eels’ stunning high-performance precinct in Kellyville — the James Hardie Centre of Excellence and Kellyville Memorial Park Community Centre. As part of the course, students will complete up to 100 hours of real-world experience with the club, rotating through key departments involved in game-day operations, commercial strategy, community work, sports science, and more.
Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos spoke from the heart about what this initiative means to the community:
“We’re incredibly proud to launch the Eels Institute. This gives passionate students the chance to learn in a world-class environment while gaining hands-on experience. At the Parramatta Eels, we’re deeply committed to uplifting our community and investing in future talent.”
TAFE Queensland Academy of Sport Manager Don Harley said the program is opening doors that young people never had before:
“The sporting world is such an exciting place to work. The Eels are giving people in their community a chance to be part of it, and their Kellyville facility is one of the best in Australia.”
In a heartwarming commitment to reward hard work and excellence, at least two students from every cohort will be offered full-time employment with the Parramatta Eels each year — turning dreams into careers.
No ATAR is required. No barriers. Just passion, determination, and opportunity.
Why the Eels Institute truly matters:
• A pathway for young dreamers
• Real qualifications, real experience
• Industry mentors and elite facilities
• Careers built with care, love, and community pride
Applications for the January 2026 intake are now open, with Open Days and virtual sessions scheduled for November and December.
The Parramatta Eels aren’t just building teams — they’re building futures. And for many young Australians, the Eels Institute will be the place where their story begins.
