In a powerful statement of intent for the seasons ahead, the Parramatta Eels have officially announced the signings of rising stars Jayde Herdegen and Jasmin Morrissey for the 2026–2027 NRLW campaigns, further strengthening their backline with a blend of creativity, speed, and youthful firepower.
The dual acquisition is being celebrated across the Blue and Gold community as a strategic masterstroke—one that promises to redefine the team’s attacking identity for years to come.
Herdegen Brings Craft, Composure, and Representative Class
Jayde Herdegen arrives at Parramatta after developing her talents within the Sydney Roosters system and showcasing her playmaking abilities from an early age. The former Wynnum Manly Seagulls junior carved out a reputation for high football IQ, strong decision-making, and the flexibility to dominate at either five-eighth or halfback.
Her representative resume speaks volumes: Herdegen proudly wore Queensland colours in both the 2021 U17 Country match and the 2022 U19 State of Origin, proving she can rise to elite-level pressure.
The Eels are confident she will play a key role in controlling tempo, unlocking the backline, and shaping the team’s future as a premier playmaker.
Morrissey Adds Speed, Toughness, and Electric Potential
Joining Herdegen in Blue and Gold is winger and outside-back weapon Jasmin Morrissey, who spent her early career with the Gold Coast Titans and emerged as one of the most exciting young talents of the 2025 NRLW season.
A proud Tweed Seagulls junior, Morrissey made her NRLW debut in Round 10 against the Newcastle Knights, instantly catching attention with her pace, physicality, and relentless competitive edge. Her ability to turn half-chances into breaks and her defensive grit make her a valuable addition to Parramatta’s evolving backline.
Club Leadership Welcomes the New Era
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill expressed the club’s excitement:
“Jayde and Jasmin are outstanding young talents who will bolster the Eels’ backline and bring new energy to our squad. Both athletes have already shown maturity and drive early in their careers, and we believe they will thrive in our system.”
Looking Ahead to 2026
Both players will join the team for pre-season preparations in early 2026, marking the beginning of what Eels fans hope will be a new era of success built on youth, ambition, and dynamic attacking football.
The Blue and Gold army is ready—Herdegen and Morrissey are on their way.
