Tallyn Da Silva may have arrived at Parramatta midway through the 2025 NRL season, but his impact — and sense of belonging — has grown rapidly in Blue and Gold. Since joining the Eels in June, the dynamic hooker has wasted no time settling into his new environment, embracing both the culture of the club and the challenge ahead as Parramatta eyes a strong 2026 campaign.
Da Silva made his club debut just two weeks after arriving, coming off the bench and quickly earning the trust of the coaching staff. From there, he held his spot in the matchday 17 for the remainder of the season, providing energy through the middle and averaging over 30 running metres per game. His first try in Eels colours came in Round 27 — a milestone moment that capped off a promising introduction.
Reflecting on his transition, Da Silva spoke warmly about the welcome he received from teammates. From the moment he walked into the club, he felt supported and included, something he believes played a key role in his rapid adjustment. While the move represented a significant change, he described it as one he needed — an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
Under new Head Coach Jason Ryles, Da Silva has found clarity in his role. His direct running game and enthusiasm around the ruck have aligned well with the style Ryles is building. Looking back on the latter stages of the 2025 season, Da Silva pointed to the strong finish as a sign of progress, noting that the direction of the team is becoming increasingly clear.
He also credited senior figures within the squad for helping him elevate his game. Captain Mitchell Moses’ leadership and control were highlighted, while Dylan Walker earned special praise for mentoring Da Silva and the middle forwards. Their guidance, combined with a positive team atmosphere, helped Da Silva gain confidence and consistency.
Looking ahead to 2026, Da Silva’s focus is clear: consistency. After several seasons disrupted by movement between teams, his goal is to firmly establish himself as a regular contributor and deliver his best football every week. He believes that if he can do that, Parramatta has the potential to be a very successful side.
Now deep into his first full pre-season with the Eels, Da Silva is relishing the workload. Training has been demanding but enjoyable, and he describes it as his best pre-season yet. Working closely with fellow hooker Ryley Smith, the pair are pushing each other daily, learning from their contrasting styles and raising standards together.
As 2026 approaches, Tallyn Da Silva looks settled, motivated, and ready to make Parramatta truly home — a promising sign for the Blue and Gold faithful. 💙💛
