Oklahoma Sooners star Jeremiah Fears has announced his decision to enter the 2025 NBA Draft, opting to forgo his remaining college eligibility. Fears made the announcement on The Paul Finebaum Show on Tuesday, citing his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA as a key reason for the decision.
During his one season at Oklahoma, Fears proved to be an offensive powerhouse, averaging 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The 6-foot-4, 182-pound guard also contributed defensively with 1.6 steals per game, making him one of the most well-rounded players in college basketball. While his perimeter shooting still needs improvement, his skill set makes him a strong NBA prospect.
Fears played 34 games for Oklahoma, starting in 31 of them. He had several standout performances, including a 27-point, 10-assist double-double in a victory over Mississippi State. He scored 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in Oklahoma’s NCAA Tournament first-round loss to UConn. His season-high came in a game against Missouri, where he dropped 31 points.
Family played a crucial role in Fears’ decision to go pro. “They were very excited for me throughout the whole process,” he said. “It was mixed emotions about coming back or moving forward, but their support played a big role for me.”
While Fears has areas to refine, his ability to score, facilitate, and defend makes him an intriguing prospect for NBA teams. With his college career behind him, all eyes are now on where he will land in the 2025 NBA Draft**.
