Nebraska Women’s Basketball has bolstered its roster with the addition of former Maryland guard/forward Emily Fisher. The 6-foot standout announced her decision to join the Huskers on April 16, 2025, via Instagram. Fisher becomes Nebraska’s third transfer portal acquisition for the 2025-26 season.

Fisher, who has two years of eligibility remaining, brings versatility and experience to the Huskers. During the 2024-25 season, she averaged 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds per game while battling adversity, missing 11 games due to a concussion. She returned to action in January and showcased her potential with a season-high eight points against Nebraska, shooting 40% from the field.

As a freshman at Maryland, Fisher demonstrated her ability to contribute on both ends of the court, averaging 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Her strong foundation was built during her high school career at Libertyville High School in Illinois, where she earned accolades as a 4A First Team All-State honoree and set the school record with 100 career blocks. Fisher was also ranked No. 80 nationally by ESPN in the class of 2023.

Nebraska’s head coach Amy Williams expressed excitement about Fisher’s arrival, praising her versatility and competitive spirit. “Emily’s ability to play multiple positions and her high basketball IQ will add depth and dynamism to our lineup,” Williams said.

Fisher joins Kansas State transfer forward Eliza Maupin and former Northwestern guard Hailey Weaver as key additions through the transfer portal. Together, the trio strengthens Nebraska’s roster, bringing a mix of size, skill, and experience.

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 season, the Huskers have 13 players on their roster, including Fisher and incoming freshman guard Alanna Neale. With two scholarships still available, Nebraska’s recruiting efforts may not be finished.

As Fisher transitions to Lincoln, she brings a fresh perspective and determination to contribute to a team eager to build on its recent successes. Husker fans can look forward to seeing her impact on the court as Nebraska aims for a strong campaign next season.
